Reports say the Nintendo NX will be revealed, or at least be described in more detail, this October , but a UK site has supposedly leaked the release date and price of the upcoming console.
Tesco, a UK supermarket, has posted a page on the Nintendo NX Wii U(?), which has since been taken down, with a release date of Dec. 26, 2016 and a price of £349.99, according to VG 24/7.
After conversion, the leaked price is approximately $450. Check out the screenshot of the Tesco NX posting below.
VG 24/7 compares the supposedly leaked Nintendo NX price to current and past consoles. The Nintendo Wii U price varied between £250 for the standard edition and £300 for the premium edition.
Both the PS4 Pro and PSVR are priced at £350 each and are launching in the run up to Christmas.
Considering the Nintendo NX is being pegged as both a home and handheld console, the inflated price could make sense if the console’s capabilities are up to par. Having a hybrid console could essentially mean having two consoles for the price of one, so the price may be justified.
However, many believe this price and release date are just placeholders until the official information is released.
Nintendo has said that the NX will release in March 2017.
While the date is most certainly a placeholder, what do you think of the leaked Nintendo NX price? Too much or just right? Sound off in the comments section below.
