New information on the first major Nioh expansion is out this week via a short PlayStation Blog post from Team Ninja Localization Producer Naoki Tamura. And it sounds like we can expect more of pretty much everything when Dragon of the North debuts next month.

According to Tamura, the first Nioh expansion will deliver new yokai, missions, magic and equipment. It will also shift the action to northern Japan. Dragon of the North sees William venture to the Oshu region, after the events of the base game, following rumors the local ruler is amassing a collection of spirit stones. There will be new environments to explore and supernatural terrors to overcome, and it’s probably safe to assume there will be a showdown with the aforementioned ruler at some point.

The localization producer says the game’s previously promised PvP update will also debut alongside Dragon of North . We still don’t have many details on that aspect of Nioh, other than confirmation it’ll be free for the entire community. And Tamura didn’t share any new information in the blog post. But we do at least have a firm timeline for the debut of Nioh ’s PvP features.

We’ll have to wait until early May to see most of that new content. Or at least the release of a Dragon of the North trailer. But a pair of screenshots that accompanied Tamura’s announcement offer some idea of what to expect (visually) from the first Nioh expansion. The first shows William standing before a much taller yokai; one with fiery horns and an oversized cleaver for anyone who opposes it. The second is much simpler, an external shot of a village. Both make it clear that William will be exploring in a much colder climate when Nioh: Dragon of the North hits PSN next month.

Nioh is currently available on PS4. The first expansion, Dragon of the North , debuts May 2.
