One last Nioh demo will be made available to PlayStation 4 owners later this week, Sony and Koei Tecmo confirmed on Wednesday, giving those who missed the game’s alpha and beta tests a chance to get some hands-on time with Nioh before it debuts next month.
Details on the third (and final) Nioh demo emerged via the US PlayStation Blog ; however, those curious about the upcoming playtest should know Sony and Koei Tecmo aren’t saying much. We do know that the next Nioh demo will feature the same section, slightly expanded, used for the game’s PlayStation Experience 2016 demonstration. The demo is divided into two segments, the main mission and Twilight mission, each of which yield rewards for those who manage to overcome the challenges found within. Completing the primary mission will yield the Ogress Headgear, for use during the Nioh campaign. Finishing the Twilight mission yields the Mark of the Conqueror and Mark of the Strong add-ons that were originally awarded to anyone who completed the game’s alpha and beta tests.
The new demo isn’t the only reason for Nioh fans to be excited this week. PlayStation Access published more than an hour of new gameplay footage on Tuesday, revisiting sections of the map that we’ve seen in numerous Nioh demonstrations over the last year-plus. The video even includes footage of a boss, Ishida Mitsunari, that we’ll encounter while completing Nioh.
For another look at Nioh, take a few minutes to watch the new trailer from Koei Tecmo (embedded below) and/or the new footage from PlayStation Access. Then hit the comments and let us know if you’re going to explore the final Nioh demo this weekend.
Nioh is in development for PlayStation 4. The game debuts Feb. 7, 2017 and it’s final demo will be available for 48 hours, beginning Jan. 21.
