In a new 1080p screenshot, the No Man’s Sky team has revealed lots more prettiness that we can’t really do anything with but admire from a two-month distance. Sigh. Check out the breathtaking screenshot below:
No Man’s Sky’s June release date was recently delayed. Hello Games announced new, staggered release dates: Aug. 9 for North America, Aug. 10 for the EU, and Aug. 12 for the UK.
On June 3, the PlayStation UK Twitter account confirmed that No Man’s Sky’s UK release date has been pushed forward to Aug. 10 to match the rest of the EU.
In a post on the PlayStation developers’ blog, Hello Games’ founder Sean Murray explained, “We realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.”
But as any Nintendo fan knows, sometimes a delay just means the game on the way will be legendary. It’s far better to give a talented team the time they need to produce good work than to rush a shoddy production out the door… even when the wait is really disappointing. Everything we’ve heard about No Man’s Sky sounds great. If Hello Games needs a little extra time to keep those promises, so be it.
Do you think No Man’s Sky will bring the magic of exploration back to sci-fi games? Judging from the lush alien vista in the screenshot, I’d have to say yes. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
