Nvidia is currently having a tough time keeping up with customer demands for the new GeForce RTX 3080 GPU. When the hot commodity was launched last month, it was quickly secured by bots. Moreover, the GPU also had a rocky launch as users started reporting performance and technical issues. Nvidia addressed these issues by releasing a new GPU driver that seemingly fixed the problem on the RTX 3080. While fans are disappointed with the GPU, it seems that Nvidia might be releasing another version of the RTX 3080, which is scheduled to come out in December.
Currently, the RTX 3080 GPU comes with 10GB of VRAM, and according to Videocardz, it seems that Nvidia has planned another version of the GPU with 20GB of VRAM. Not only that, the company is said to be releasing an RTX 3070 refresh with 16GB of VRAM. Additionally, the launch of the rumored RTX 3070Ti has been canceled and is now scheduled to release in 2021.
Nvidia previously teased that the RTX 3080 will have memory upgrades, and even Gigabyte accidentally revealed that it would be releasing the RTX 3080 with 20GB VRAM very soon. So, fans already had an idea of what Nvidia has been cooking up, and the recent rumor further reinforces the existence of the RTX 30 series GPU variants. Gigabyte also revealed that it is also working on the RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 GPU variants.
It clearly seems that Nvidia is waiting for AMD to launch its RX 6000 GPU, and especially the Big Navi. From all the available leaks, Nvidia will release GPUs that will close the gaps between the RTX 3090, RTX 3080, and RTX 3070 with the RTX 3080 20GB, RTX 3070Ti, RTX 3060Ti, and RTX 3060.
AMD recently revealed its new Zen 3 CPUs, and the company will be revealing its new GPUs toward the end of this month.
