The Season 13 update for Overwatch 2 is bringing a lot of Halloween-themed content for fans of Blizzard's latest hero shooter.

These include various new skins, a new mechanic, as well as a new event that players can enjoy. Overwatch 2's post-launch is filled with consistent in-game seasons that bring bi-monthly events that add brand-new content.

Overwatch 2's Season 13

More often than not, the new seasons bring major changes to players' core experience as well as the gameplay meta of Overwatch 2 itself. Some seasons also offer things like brand-new maps, modes, and playable heroes.

Overwatch 2's Season 13 is known as Spellbinder and takes advantage of the spooky season and focuses on arcane magic. The update is scheduled to arrive on Oct. 15, 2024, and will bring dark magic themes to the hero shooter.

As is customary with all Overwatch 2 seasons, there will be a brand-new battle pass that is filled with tons of cosmetic rewards. Season 13 will also introduce the Mythic Shop's Gilded Aspects mechanic, according to Game Rant.

This new mechanic will allow Overwatch 2 players to unlock amazing new looks for past and present Mythic skins. Widowmaker is the hero that gets a new Mythic skin this upcoming season, Spellbinder Widowmaker.

This particular skin has four levels of cosmetic progression that players can unlock. It also comes with its own custom animations and soundscapes. This makes it a perfect fit for fans who want a more immersive experience this Halloween season.

A Variety of New Content

Another change in Season 13 is a rework for several maps that were originally revealed in March earlier this year. It was recently confirmed that this would include four maps in total: Circuit Royale, Dorado, Havana, and Numbani, Siege said.

A new mode known as Junkentein's Laboratory will also be playable in Season 13 where players will be able to choose a special ability for the available heroes. The new abilities include multiple damage orbs and the return of Reaper's healing souls.

There is also the My Hero Academia crossover with Overwatch 2 that will run from Oct. 17, 2024, to Oct. 30, 2024. It will include skins such as Deku Tracer, Uravity Juno, and many others inspired by the popular anime/manga series.

On the other hand, the Halloween Terror 2024 event will start on Oct. 15, 2024, and will run until Nov. 4, 2024. It will have Junkentein's Laboratory as a new fast-paced Deathmatch mode, according to Polygon.
