Overwatch, the competitive PvP game by Activision Blizzard, is still getting new features almost five years after launch. The August 11 Update now gives players more Text Chat Options. From now on, you can turn on and off the following chat options.
- Group Text Chat
- Team Text Chat
- Match Text Chat
- General Text Chat
This new option will allow players to turn off individual chat options. Don’t wanna read messages from your noob teammates? Well, just turn off Team Text Chat. However, don’t complain about miscommunication.
The update addresses several bugs related to multiple heroes like Ana, Pharah, and Tracer. One bug in the Junkertown map is also squashed. You can read about these bug fixes in great detail below:
BUG FIXES
- Fixed a bug that allowed players to stand on top of a building panel near the initial attacker's spawn location
- Fixed a bug that caused golden weapon textures to appear missing when equipping the Haroeris skin
- Fixed a bug that caused her rocket launcher to disappear after using the Rocket Guitar emote
- Fixed a bug that caused her pistol muzzles to not always return to their proper position after firing
The patch notes of the August 11 and August 12 Updates can be read on the official site. The August 12 Update features a bug fix related to D.Va, where Self-Destruct won’t deal damage.
In other news, Activision Blizzard is currently facing some major challenges. The company is being sued by California's Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH). They claim that Blizzard has a long history of sexual harassment, discrimination, and a toxic work environment. You can read more about it over here.
Overwatch is currently available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. A sequel of the game is also planned, but there is no release date on sight.
