Oni Genji skin in Overwatch
Oni Genji skin in Overwatch Blizzard

If you’ve been watching Blizzcon, Blizzard’s annual convention dedicated to their greatness, you might have missed a few interesting announcements. Overwatch players can get a brand new Oni Genji skin and multiple loot boxes all by following a few simple steps.

  • Oni Genji Skin- In order to get what I consider to be Genji’s best skin, you have to start a Heroes Of The Storm account and play 15 games with a friend. If you complete this quest, you’ll also be gifted Zarya in HOTS. If you play 30 games with a friend, Blizzard will give you four additional heroes for HOTS and a special hoverbike mount. If you don’t have any friends because you’re a Genji main, you can find people to play with over on the Overwatch subreddit. The promotion will run from November 15th 2016 to January 4th 2017. If you play on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, you have to link your Battle.net account to your console account. You can do this in the Overwatch options menu under "link account."

  • Arcade Mode- In the coming weeks, Jeff Kaplan and his merry band of developers are adding a brand new game mode to Overwatch . In Arcade, the basic rules of Overwatch are thrown out the window in favor of something unique and new. You can play 1v1, which is a best-of-nine, or 3v3, which is a best-of-five. If you win three games in either of these modes, you get three loot boxes. You can do this up to three times before the rewards go on cooldown for a week.

None of this stuff is on the live servers yet, but it will be on the PTR starting next week. If you follow all of these steps, you should have a brand new Genji skin and nine new loot boxes a week. I wish Blizzcon and it’s announcements could come more than once a year.
