Orisa, Overwatch’s next big omnic hero, is going to be my new favorite tank once she comes on the live servers. Her long-range damage is nuts, so she can avoid all forms of crowd control and can even put a shield on a basketball. There’s almost nothing this Numbani heart throb can’t do, except run around really fast, but that’s what Lucio is for.
I’m counting down the days until this beast made of moving parts can be played by the rest of us on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Blizzard hasn’t announced when Orisa is going to go live, but using past hero releases as a reference, we can take an educated guess.
All Overwatch updates get rolled out on Tuesday, usually around 2 to 4 P.M. EST. Ana was announced a week before she was playable by everyone, while Sombra took two weeks to come out of stealth mode. If I was to put on my mad scientist hat and crunch a few numbers, I’d say Orisa should be coming out somewhere after PAX East. Blizzard is going to show up to show off new Diablo III stuff, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be showing off Orisa to eager fans without access to the PTR.
Overwatch’s Orisa will probably come out Tuesday, March 14, in the afternoon. Jeff Kaplan said that Orisa will come out later in the month in a Battle.net post, so my new guess is March 28.
This is still just a guess, so don’t crucify me if they have to push her back a week to really make sure they aren’t releasing another busted omnic. I’m looking at you Bastion.
