Lúcioball is back, along with a new arena, over 50 seasonal items and more in the Overwatch Summer Games 2017. The games are now active, and will run until Aug. 28.
If you’re looking for some summer fashion to dress up the Overwatch heroes, there are new skins for Reaper, Widowmaker, Junkrat, Soldier: 76, Reaper, Sombra and Mercy. Additionally, the skins from the 2016 Summer Games have also been made available again at a reduced price.
There are also two new highlight intros and one new emote. The highlight intros are for Hanzo and Pharah, with the new emote going to Ana. Like the skins, the highlight intros and emotes from the Summer Games 2016 are also available again.
To check out all of the Overwatch Summer Games 2017 skins, emotes and highlight intros, be sure to head over to the Summer Games 2017 official website.
Lúcioball returns as well, with some updated rules and a new arena to play in. This time around, players will not be able to “boop” enemies, and Lúcio’s ultimate ability has been modified. Instead of pulling the ball towards you, the ultimate will now increase Lúcio’s speed and the speed of his “boop.”
Additionally, there will be a second mode for Lúcioball called Copa Lúcioball. This is just like the regular version, except players will have placement matches, skill ratings tiers, leaderboards, competitive points and other features you’d expect from a ranked game of Overwatch.
However, now that we know what the Overwatch Summer Games skins look like, we can put to rest a previous Overwatch theory. It seems the hype surrounding weapon skins was wrong, as the two examples found can now be seen in the Soldier: 76 and Sombra Summer Games 2017 skins. If you were holding out for a cool flamethrower skin for Soldier: 76, sorry. The Dad-hunk Summer Games 2017 skin will just have to do.
So what do you think? What skins will you be hunting down now that all of them have been revealed? Will you try to get any of last year’s skins during Summer Games 2017? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
