Thanks to an image leak on Blizzard’s website, we finally know what Overwatch’s next hero, Sombra, is going to look like. After months of random goose chases involving decoding beeps, deciphering ancient Mayan calendars and learning Spanish, we finally get to see a bit of Sombra. It’s pretty ironic that Blizzard had fans jump through all of those hoops, just to leave the picture up on their site for anyone with too much free time to find.
Sombra’s image has been taken down off the Blizzard site, but once something is out on the internet, it’s there forever. The picture we see confirms the leak from a while back, which gave us our first look at the Spanish hacker. She’s got a half-shaved head, a petticoat and purple tendrils shooting out of her fingertips. It looks like she’s going to have a tether ability, similar to Mercy, maybe even controlling foes like puppets on strings.
The tendrils in the image are attaching themselves to the hand of a giant robot that looks a lot like Svyatogor, the giant mech that stands on Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Imagine Sombra’s ultimate having that giant robot stomp on enemies or swat them away.
The official Sombra release should be coming in the next few hours, the ARG clues and a news article on the Blizzard site all pointed to Nov. 1.
