Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition, the enhanced version of Pascal’s Wager, will finally see a Nintendo Switch release next week, July 14. This enhanced version port will be handled by Yooreka Studio from the original developer TipsWorks. It will retail for $19.99, and to celebrate the announcement, a new trailer was also revealed, which you can check out below.
Pascal’s Wager was initially a mobile-only title released on iOS in January 2020, followed by an Android release in June 2020. The enhanced version, Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition, was then released on PC via Steam in March 2021. This version included all content that was launched on the base game, as well as a few bonuses:
- The Tides of Oblivion expansion
- Into the Dark Mist, a new mode
- Sleeping Beauty outfit for Benita
- Initiation Rite outfit for Viola
- Herald outfit for Terrence
Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition tells the dark fantasy story of the Couriers, a group of explorers in a mysterious land where they are trying to discover the story behind the mysterious Dark Mist. The game is notable for an atmosphere very much like FromSoftware’s Bloodborne, an apt comparison given that Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition is Souls-like at its core.
The game features a hardcore combat experience where various fighting styles are endowed upon its different characters instead of different weapons. There are five different characters to experience, each with its own combat styles for you to play around with. Unlike other Souls -likes, Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition gives casual players the option to try and enjoy their own playthroughs with a Casual Mode accessibility option. If you’re a big fan of Souls -likes on Nintendo Switch but find them incredibly challenging, this Casual Mode may help you in Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition.
The game will pit your Couriers against the Colossi, as these beasts that once served as humanity’s light have fallen to a mysterious illness. Following their trail, Terrence and his group of couriers must go on an arduous journey to unveil the truth behind this dark world, encountering both allies and enemies along the way.
