The PUBG Global Championship 2022 officially starts tomorrow with 32 teams from around the world fighting for a large piece of the $2 million prize pool. Like any PUBG esports tournament, it's not just players having fun because fans can also be part of the action with the Pick’em Challenge.
For those not familiar with this event, it's a chance for fans to earn in-game rewards by correctly predicting the result of the tournament. During PGC 2022, fans can "vote" for the teams they think are going to win. In return, they earn Esports Points (EP) which are exchangeable for exclusive PGC 2022 gear in the in-game store once voting ends on November 18.
Guess Who Wins
There are two separate events in PGC 2022. The first one is called Pick the Winner where fans need to use a voting coupon and some esports knowledge and insight to predict which team will be crowned the grand champion. The prizes for this challenge are:
- First Place: 300,000 EP
- Second Place: 180,000 EP
- Third Place: 60,000 EP
- Fourth Place: 30,000 EP
Go Team!
The second event is known as Team Faceoff where fans choose who they think wins among rival teams. The EP prize varies for the challenge from 400 to 7,600 EP and is based on how weighted the vote tally is. If you're joining this one, be sure to choose carefully since the bounty can be truly quite lucrative.
Get Those Coupons
One way to get voting coupons is to buy themed PGC items or by using “codes” that appear during a PGC broadcast. Remember that once you get EPs, you can exchange them for some unique PGC-themed cosmetics.
There are also other ways to earn voting coupons for free, including:
- Watching Live Streams
- Throughout official PGC 2022 live streams, special codes are going to be shared, which give free voting coupons if viewers are fast enough to claim them for themselves.
- Players can also earn a free voting coupon by visiting the in-game event tab then clicking on the “Join Event” button and completing the in-game mission.
- Twitch Drops
- During PGC 2022, players and fans can tune into the official PUBG Twitch broadcast to receive free EP drops. Viewers need to have a KRAFTON ID linked to their platform and Twitch Account to receive drops.
- Pick & Go Bingo
- Viewers can join in the Pick & Go Bingo at the official PUBG Esports Twitch channel.
- They can compete with nine other players randomly matched with them from the chat for the chance to earn free EPs.
- Participants earn points every time their selected teams eliminate another player’s teams.
- If all teams placed in a straight line earn a point, it’s bingo.
- Each bingo grants bonus points.
