Things are speeding up in PlateUp! That’s because the game’s newest update adds the Turbo mode where everyone is tasked with finishing restaurant challenges as quickly as possible. With increased customers, rushes, and a new challenge card each day, it’s important to hit the ground running. The good news is that blueprints are cheaper and there are more choices of what to buy for each day.
Speaking of being fast, the Weekly Speedrun Map allows players to prove if they have what it takes to run a successful restaurant. Each week, the lobby has a new fixed speed run which is the same for everyone. Players then have to complete day 15 as fast as they can and find out where they rank in the global leaderboard.
Expanded Lobby
One of the long-requested features is the Save Slot Map One, and finally, it is now available. With this players, can keep as many as five restaurant saves at once through the new map feature in the lobby. In addition, returning to HQ from the in-game menu now saves the restaurant from the beginning of the day and allows players to return to it later.
There’s also the Trophy Room Show where everyone can show off their achievements and experience to friends. The room displays progress via the game’s unlocks, achievements and levels. It shows the stats for week's speedrun leaderboard as well. More stats will be added in the future along with run tracking to help optimize gameplay.
Fixes and Improvements
Of course, the new patch included several bug fixes. New enhancements are here too, such as recipes added to card choices, the ability to automatically skip recipe pop-ups, and improved warnings when the game can’t load because of mods and other reasons.
Run a Restaurant
The game offers chaotic kitchen and restaurant management and combines it with strategic planning and development. This results in a delightful roguelite dish like no other.
A maximum of four players can build and run a restaurant from scratch. They can choose dishes, buy and place appliances, cook food and of course, serve customers. Players have the freedom to design their restaurant and expand and develop between shifts through additional content and challenges unlocked through progression.
PlateUp! is available on PC through Steam.
