A new Pokémon mobile game revealed in early March took the Pokémon Figure Game and put it on players’ devices and that game, titled Pokemon Comaster has been released in Japan.
The official Pokémon Comaster website has the first screenshots and details of how the strategy game works. As mentioned above, Pokémon Comaster will simulate the Pokémon Figure Game where the spin-roulette found on individual figures decides the Pokémon’s attack.
When the game, a collaboration with The Pokémon Company and HEROZ, was first announced, here’s how it was described: this new Pokémon mobile game is a strategy board game when you collect virtual figures. Each figure will have their own unique attributes and you can make a deck with to try and defeat your opponent.
Pokémon Comaster’s figures are partly based on the physical figures released in 2006, including the each figures’ attacks and stats.
Serebii has begun covering the game and some preliminary information gathered includes that Pokémon Comaster is a free-to-play game with in-app purchases of diamonds in order to get better figures and items.
Figures come in various rarities, with the rarest so far being Charizard, Venusaur, Dialga and Palkia with a 0.5 percent chance of appearing when you purchase a single pack.
Pokémon figures can be levelled up through your gameplay, attacks are determined by spinning and damage inflicted depends on where the figure lands on the board.
The new Pokémon Comaster mobile app is out in Japan for Android with the iOS app coming shortly. There has yet to be an announcement of the game going worldwide but with the success of Pokemon Shuffle it may soon come to the West.
