After beta field tests in other countries like Japan and Australia, the US is getting its first taste of Pokémon Go this month.
Getting involved in the Pokémon Go field test is pretty easy. Prospective players can sign up on the Niantec website : you’ll need a Gmail account and to register your email address. Be aware that not everyone who signs up for the Pokémon Go beta field test is guaranteed to get in.
More field tests are expected to be announced in other areas of the world after the US field tests conclude so keep checking back to iDigitalTimes with all the information.
Previous field tests gave others around the world information on the upcoming Pokémon mobile app, with beta testers showing off the interface and how battles and training work.
We’ve seen that battling is a lot different from the 3DS games. Instead of weakening with another Pokémon , you just have to flick a Pokeball and hope it’s caught.
Here are some other details from earlier field tests:
Players receive a starter Pokémon, but players in the beta version don’t receive one.
There are three “teams” the player can join: Red, Blue or Yellow.
Only Pokémon from Gen 1 exist in the beta; this will likely expand with the final product.
Pokémon have different Natures, but differ from the main games. The ones found so far are: Stoic, Assassin, Guardian, Raider, Protector, Sentry and Champion.
Niantec has kicked those who leak information out of the field tests, so if you get in to the U.S. field tests, beware of what you post.
