Pokémon Go Is Launching A Ghost Event And An Exclusive Grubhub Special Weekend

There’s no question that Halloween is just around the corner. Pokémon Go is inviting all Trainers to be part of a one-of-a-kind event. It’s none other than the Catch Mastery: Ghost event, where Ghost-type Pokémon are going to appear more often. The event is going to be held on October 25 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, local time.

In addition, there’s also going to be a Special Weekend in partnership with Grubhub. For those not familiar, Grubhub is an online and mobile prepared food ordering and delivery platform. Guess that’s another video game and food collaboration. It’s going to be on November 8 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, local time.

Are You Scared?

For the Catch Mastery: Ghost event, Trainers can expect Drifloon to appear more often in the wild. Those lucky enough may even get the chance to encounter a Shiny one. There’s also an exclusive Timed Research that’s available only during this event.

Trainers that complete event-exclusive Field Research tasks can encounter Ghost-type Pokémon and earn Gengar Mega Energy.

Bonuses that Trainers can earn during this event include additional XP when catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, Excellent, and Curveball Throws.

Grubhub Special Weekend

Starting October 15, Trainers in the US can take part in this exclusive event. To get a ticket, follow these steps:

• Submit your email address on the Special Weekend page here.
  • You then receive an email from Grubhub within 48 hours.
• If you’re new to Grubhub+, sign up for a Grubhub+ trial by using the link in the email and following the prompts.
• Special Weekend tickets are going to be sent out starting on November 4 via an email from Grubhub.

To know if you’re eligible, here are the conditions:

• Tickets are available to new and current Grubhub+ members.
  • Trainers who are new to Grubhub+ must join using the link in the email described above, and will receive a 14-day free trial through this promotion.
  • Trainers who are current Grubhub+ members must only submit their email address on the Special Weekend event page by October 28 in order to register for this promotion and receive a ticket.
  • Tickets are going to be sent out starting on November 4.
• Only one code can be redeemed per Pokémon Go account. Codes are personal and cannot be transferred.
• Available in the U.S. only.

For the event itself, here’s what you need to know:

• Complete the event Timed Research to earn:
  • Three Incense
  • Star Piece
  • 100 Charizard Mega Energy
  • Encounters with:
    • Chansey
    • Spoink
    • Mawile
    • Bronzor
    • Gible
    • Sewaddle
• These Pokémon are going to be attracted to Incense during the event:
  • Bulbasaur
  • Charizard
  • Squirtle
  • Pikachu
  • Unown G
  • Unown H
  • Sableye
  • Patrat
  • Minccino
  • Ferroseed
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Ferroseed.
• Shiny Unown is not going to be appearing during this event.
• Incense activated during the event lasts for one hour.
