Pokémon Go ’s latest update tasks your team leader with a new responsibility. Instead of using third-party apps and sites to see how powerful your Pokémon can be, you can now ask Candela, Blanche or Spark for their stats.
Niantic just released new patch notes for Pokémon Go update version 0.35.0 for Android and 1.5.0 for iOS devices. The developers are preparing to implement Pokémon Appraisal, where trainers will be able to learn the stats for Pokémon’s attack and defense capabilities. Basically, you’ll no longer need to use sites like Poké Assistant to figure out the CP.
Does this change the game? Not really. Hopefully the IV calculator means the game is preparing for a better battle system. At this point, some players aren’t pleased with the gym and battle systems. It’s a lot of tapping with little emphasis on strategy. If you have a really strong Pokémon, like a Garados or a Dragonite, chances are you’ll be holding down a gym while others try to desperately to power up their ‘mon.
Niantic is trying to crack down on cheating and the use of third-party sites. The studio forced the site PokéVision to shut down its services which allowed players to see what Pokémon were in their area and for how long.
Niantic also promised they are “still working hard on several new and exciting features to come in the future of Pokémon Go ” in their patch notes. The update for iOS and Android devices has yet to be released.
