Pokemon Go tracking is disabled, and Pokevision doesn't work anymore Pokevision

The latest update for Pokémon Go has completely disabled tracking from the game. Other apps, like Pokévision, have been shut down. What’s the angry gamer left to do? Get refunds.

Many Pokémon Go players have been upset with the notorious “three footstep” bug, where all nearby Pokémon appear to be the furthest distance away while still getting picked up on the tracker. Instead of releasing a fix, developer Niantic decided to completely remove the footsteps from Pokémon Go in the latest update. Now, the tracker will still show nearby Pokémon, but you have to guess how far away each one is.

This wasn’t that much of an issue when sites like Pokévision were working. These tools allows players to see what Pokémon were nearby, and how much longer they would be sticking around in a given area. Niantic must have changed some aspects of the Pokémon Go API, making these tracking services obsolete.

Now gamers are taking to the Apple App Store to demand refunds. Pokémon Go is a free game to download, but players can still buy items and upgrades from the game’s store. Citing the game not working as promised, refund requests have been flooding in.

While many users on reddit have reported getting refunded for their purchases, user Jackstepper has some additional advice to help secure your money back. “If your amount is over $5, you have to speak with Apple support about a refund.” he or she wrote. Jackstepper also confirmed that refund information will be kept anonymous, so don’t worry if you are afraid your account will be negatively impacted for getting your money back.

If you would like to get a refund for yourself, click on the Apple Report a Problem page or the Android Account page. For Apple, just follow the form. On Android, scroll down to your Pokémon Go purchase, click the menu button, and select “Report a Problem” to get started on your refunds.

So what do you think? Will you try and get a refund for Pokémon Go purchases you’ve made? Are you upset that Niantic has disabled both in-game tracking and third-party tracking sites? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
