Enough with the Rattatas, Zubats and Pidgeys already. After close to two months of Pokémon Go, I'm only concerned about adding some rare 'mon in my stable. Dragonite, where is you?!
There is an alleged slick Incense exploit that enables you to catch rarer Pokémon. However, it isn't exactly straightforward. Apparently, the Pokémon Go trick only works under these specific conditions: you cannot be on a street, near a gym, or a Pokéstop. It cannot be an area where wild Pokémon spawn. Essentially, it's virtually impossible to recreate this cheat in New York City, where I live.
YouTuber IbexPvP shared a video explaining the Pokémon Go trick. Once all the previously mentioned requisites are met, simply use one of your incense and walk around. If the trick works as described, then the incense should yield rare Pokémon just like that.
But why would incense work so well off the beaten path? Well, according to IbexPvP, the incense usually spawn pokemon that are normally in the area. So if you're in a city that's infested with Zubats, you'll only find more of them. But if there are no pokemon in the area, then the incense could spawn Pokémon at random.
