Pokémon Go has been quiet in 2017 but with Valentine’s Day around the corner, the popular mobile game is having its first event of the new year to celebrate the holiday.
In the Pokémon Go Valentine’s Day event, which starts Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. EST and ends Feb. 15 at the same time, trainers should expect an increase in candy obtained through catching, transferring and hatching Pokémon. Your Pokémon buddy will also give candy twice as fast, so get out and start hatching and collecting candy.
But increased candy isn’t the only change to Pokémon Go during the Valentine’s Day event. Some Pokémon will see their encounter rates increased, including some rare ones. The theme is pink, so if a Pokémon is pink in color, it’s likely you’ll come across them way more frequently than you’d otherwise would.
Some of the Pokémon included in the increased encounter rates include: Chansey, Clefable, Porygon and more.
Also, if you’re still looking for some of the baby Pokémon from Gen 2, the Pokémon Go Valentine’s Day event will have eggs hatch Cleffa, Igglybuff and Smoochum at a higher rate.
Trainers can also deploy Lure Modules that will attract Pokémon for six hours, as opposed to 30 minutes, for the duration of the event.
The Pokémon Go Valentine’s Day event begins Feb. 8 and ends Feb. 15.
