Pokémon Uranium might have been pulled from the internet, but that’s not going to stop others from trying to make their own Pokémon games. Pokémon Prism is the newest fan-made Pokémon game, created by Nsomniart and TPP Devs, the same guys who made Pokémon Brown and Pokémon Anniversary Crystal. This game is in no way affiliated with Nintendo or the actual Pokémon Company, but that doesn't make the game look any less appealing.
This group of developers, musicians, programmers and more took eight years to create a full sprite-style Pokémon game that pays homage to the classic games of our childhood. Explore the Naljo region, a brand new land created for Prism which features over 252 Pokémon, spanning four generations.
What really makes this game cool is how it builds on the established Pokémon mythos. There are new types of Pokémon, like Wind and Sound, fully customizable Trainers and even new HMs and TMs. It’s like if you took your old Pokémon Gold cartridge and wished really hard on a star that it would turn into the game of your dreams, and then poof, Pokémon Prism .
Keep in mind, Nintendo does not take kindly to fan projects of their IPs. They took down Pokémon Uranium, even though the developers weren’t collecting any money from it, and have threatened lawsuits against other developers, including the guy who made No Mario’s Sky.
Pokémon Prism will be available in December, but the game will make its debut on Twitch Plays Pokémon at 6 p.m. on Oct. 9.
