Population Zero is moving to the next level as its closed beta begins on September 19. Sign-ups for the closed beta testing phase are now ongoing and everyone is invited. The open beta launch, meanwhile, is set for 2020 with Population Zero expected to be a free to play MMO game.
During the closed beta, Population Zero is offering a number of Founder’s Packs, though this is mainly optional. Those who do decided to become a founder, in support of the game’s development, are guaranteed beta access as well as exclusive in-game items, account customization, and loot. Founders can choose from three packs including:
- Scout Access Card
- Priced at $10, you get to explore Kepler, encounter the life forms of the planet, solve mysteries, build settlements, and complete quests.
- You also get the chance to play PZO once the closed beta begins.
- Pioneer Access Card
- At $20, you get to join the first wave of hundreds of well-equipped pioneers which starts two weeks before the closed beta test.
- You also get access to the release version of the game a few days before the rest of the players.
- Sentinel Access Card
- This pack is available at $50 and as an elite member, you can join the game from the Alpha test launch and become the first to study the dangers of alien world.
- The unique equipment of the sentinels allows them to be good at protecting new colonies of mankind.
In the game, players discover that freedom is key. Players start on the planet Kepler, which hosts an alien species that they can befriend, examine, and even fight. There are two factions that can be swapped out at will simply by completing quests for one or the other. The Perk System, meanwhile, provides tons of player agency to create a unique character using the skills they want. What this means is that players get the chance to play the game the way they want to.
Players are going to find the Population Zero experience as a familiar and yet unique one. Key features of the game include:
- Action-based PVP and PVE MMO with exploration and discovery at its core
- A deep character building RPG system with loads of player choice
- In-depth crafting, tech trees, and building systems
- A perk system that gives player agency to create the character and skills they want
- Two factions that a player can switch between by completing quests, these also affect the player's physical biology
- Explore Kepler, teeming with life you can hunt, adapt to, or befriend
