Prison Break Season 5 is expected sometime in early 2017. Fox hasn’t nailed down a specific date, but the Prison Break creative team just assured fans that the first episode will air before April.

Prison Break is currently in the post-production stage and back in late August, another Prison Break writer tweeted, “Oh, it won’t be long now…”

Out of every show premiering this fall, or in the 2016-17 mid season, Prison Break has generated the most buzz so far. Digital analytics firm ListenFirst Media reports Prison Break has generated 20 times more buzz over social media engagements than any other TV series. The second most talked-about series, NBC’s This Is Us , has just 1.5 million engagements compared to Prison Break ’s 19.5 million.
After eight long years of no Prison Break , it’s not a surprise the hype is real. When all four older seasons hit Netflix, the series captured the hearts of even more viewers who were too young to watch when it first aired on Fox. Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell’s on-screen chemistry was so well received that the duo landed roles on The CW’s hit series The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow , where they play two of DC Comics’ classic supervillains, Captain Cold and Heat Wave.
In Prison Break Season 5, Lincoln discovers Michael is alive in a Yemeni prison. Of course, he has to break his brother out. T-Bag, Sucre and C-Note return to help. However, unlike previous seasons, the harder part will be breaking out of Yemen since Michael got caught up with ISIS and the group’s plan to take down the government.
