Preorders for the PlayStation 4 Pro have already gone live following Sony’s PlayStation Meeting 2016 event in New York City.
Gamestop’s listing for the PlayStation 4 Pro is titled “PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB System” with a sticker price of $399, but hey, shipping’s free. Trade in the old console, right? You can preorder the PlayStation 4 Pro from Gamestop here.
Amazon also has the Playstation 4 Pro available for pre-order here for $399, with a release date of Dec. 29, 2017 (though we know for a fact that it launches on Nov. 10, so let’s update that placeholder date, Amazon). Shipping is free for Amazon Prime members (and Discover It card members with their categories activated will get 5% cashback rewards on this hefty Amazon purchase).
Here’s Sony’s cute little intro video for the PS4 Pro:
Sony’s PS4 Pro console will include a launch roster of 4K and HDR games in addition to 4K versions of the Netflix and YouTube apps. Sony also plans to release an update that will bring HDR gaming to all existing PS4 consoles. Unfortunately, the PS4 Pro might be 4K-capable, but it definitely will not be an Ultra HD Blu-ray player.
There’s no word yet on preorder bundles or bonuses for the PlayStation 4 Pro, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as those come out. We do know there’s a certain amount of HDR-compatible games that will certainly benefit from the console upgrade’s improved graphics. One thing’s for sure: Final Fantasy XV will look dope on this machine.
