Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Andrew House revealed the new PlayStation 4 Slim at the PlayStation Meeting on Wednesday. Sony has been keeping its new game consoles close to the chest, so it's surprising to learn Sony is slated to release its new PS4 Slim console as soon as next week.
The PS4 Slim release date is Sept. 15 and the console will be sold at the price of $299. As in the Slim variants of the past, the PS4 Slim promises a more compact and lighter package as well as more energy efficient hardware. The Slim also boasts a generous 500GB hard drive.
"For the highly discriminating gamer, there is a desire for advancement and they want it in this generation," said House.
Following the Slim's unveiling, PlayStation Meeting quickly shifted gears and introduced the new PlayStation 4 Pro. Stay tuned to iDigitalTimes as we cover the PlayStation event and share more info to come.
