June was a pretty slow month for game releases, and July looks to continue the unfortunate trend. There are a few fun titles below, but get ready to go back to all those great games you missed over the past few months.

Note: This list is compiled of every known release date at the time of publishing. Due to the nature of video game development, these dates are subject to change.

Multi-Platform

These games are coming to both PS4 and Xbox One in June.

The first game coming to PS4 and Xbox One is Carmageddon: Max Damage. The revival of the Carmageddon franchise features over-the-top vehicular combat, just like the original. Carmageddon: Max Damage releases on July 8.

Arriving just in time for the movie, a new Ghostbusters game gets released on July 12. Here’s the weird kicker, this Ghostbusters game is based on neither the original Ghostbusters movies or the new reboot. Who’s going to play this game? Probably nobody.

Song of the Deep is a Metroidvania game developed by Insomniac and published by GameStop. Yes, that GameStop. It’s the game retailer’s first foray into the publishing world, so it will be interesting to see how everything turns out. Song of the Deep is releasing on July 12.

Also coming July 12 is Videoball. This one-button sports game may sound strange, but is some of the best fun you can have with friends. Be sure to try out this game if you get the chance.

Chambara is an incredibly stylish stealth action multiplayer game that only features three colors: red, white and black. Players can seamlessly blend into the backgrounds of levels, setting up perfect stealth attacks on enemies. Chambara comes out July 26.

Featuring remastered versions of both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Return to Arkham will bring both games to the Xbox One and PS4 for the first time. All of the DLC released for both games is also included. Batman: Return to Arkham releases on July 26.

With five different racing disciplines across both cars and motorcycles, Valentino Rossi The Game features some intense racing action. Expect this game to be released on July 26.

Also coming out July 26 is Super Dungeon Bros. This Castle Crashers-like game features isometric action and multiplayer mayhem.

The last game coming to Xbox One and PS4 in July is Banner Saga 2. While already out on PC, Banner Saga 2 is a beautiful tactical RPG that should not be missed. Banner Saga 2 will also be releasing on July 26.

PS4

Below are the games coming to PS4 in July.

The first game coming to the PS4 in July is Gal*Gun: Double Peace. This rail shooter is a… thing. I don’t really want to talk about it. Watch the trailer if you’re interested, but that’s about it. Gal*Gun: Double Peace will be out on July 15.

With the success of Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls and hype for the upcoming Detroit: Become Human, Quantic Dream is looking to cash in on its success by remastering and rereleasing its first game, Indigo Prophecy. Called Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered, players can go through the game that started it all on July 18. Warning: this game gets weird.

While also coming to PC, I Am Setsuna is a console exclusive to the PS4 for right now. This RPG looks to inspire the RPGs of old with an isometric view, menu-driven combat and more. I Am Setsuna will be released on July 19.

The last game coming to PS4 in July is Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force. This game is an extended version of Fairy Fencer F, already released on PS3 and PC. This RPG will be available to buy starting July 26.

Xbox One

It seems there are no exclusive games coming to Xbox One in July.

Who Wins?

This month is obvious. Due to the Xbox One having no exclusives whatsoever, the PS4 wins by default. Be sure to check in next month for August’s game releases to see what’s coming out on PS4 and Xbox One.

So what do you think? Are there any games coming out in July you are excited to play? Will you use July to go play games you haven’t gotten to yet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
