It’s that time of the month again, the time to look ahead and see what games are coming out next month. While we may be disappointed that The Last Guardian is delayed to December, there still are great games coming to both PS4 and Xbox One this month.

NOTE: This list contains all known release dates at the time of publishing. Due to the nature of the video game industry, these dates could change.

Multi-Platform

These games will be released for both PS4 and Xbox One in October.

The first game coming to both PS4 and Xbox One in October is Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide. Although set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, this game is a multiplayer-only first-person shooter. Having already been released on PC for almost a year now, Vermintide comes to PS4 and Xbox One on Oct. 4.

One of the most anticipated games of the year, Mafia 3 sees unlikely protagonist Lincoln Clay rise to power in post-Vietnam New Bordeaux. Mafia 3 will release for PS4 and Xbox One on Oct. 7.

The first of several remakes and rereleases this month, Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour sees a return of the cigar chomping, dollar bill throwing video game icon. This release also includes a new eight-level episode with plenty of returning talent to make it feel authentic. Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour releases on Oct. 11.

What could be the best wrestling game in years is coming Oct. 11 when WWE 2K17 is released. This year’s WWE game features some great improvements to the MyCareer mode as well as backstage fights and more.

Also coming Oct. 11 (or 14, depending on your console) is the weird-looking game Manual Samuel. In this game, you must control Samuel with everything he does, including breathing. Expect all sorts of goofy mayhem when this game is released for PS4 on Oct. 11 and Xbox One and Steam on Oct. 14.

Reus, from Abbey Games, is an interesting-looking god game coming out Oct. 14. Based on gameplay footage, it seems there are several gods based on different habitats, so one for a desert area, one for a forest area and so on.

The next remake/remaster in October is Batman: Return to Arkham. Releasing on Oct. 18, Batman: Return to Arkham comes packed with both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City and all previously released DLC for the two games.

The most played EA beta of all time, Battlefield 1 is sure to be on the radar for many gamers. Battlefield 1 will look to recreate battles from the First World War, but expect players to try to do 360 no-scopes from a horse. Battlefield 1 releases on Oct. 21.

For all the Dark Souls fans, a new DLC will be coming to Dark Souls 3, called Ashes of Ariandel. This DLC, coming Oct. 25, gives players a new world to explore, new weapons and armor to earn and new ways to die.

The latest Dragonball game, Dragonball Xenoverse 2, comes to Xbox One and PS4 on Oct. 25. This fighting game features all of your favorite Dragonball characters in a time-bending retelling of the Dragonball Z storyline.

Another remake, this time Darksiders . Darksiders: Warmastered Edition includes all the basic upgrades you’ve come to expect from a remastered game, including 1080p resolution, 60 FPS gameplay and higher quality textures. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition comes to PS4, Xbox One and Wii U on Oct. 25.

Futuristic shooter Titanfall 2 also comes to consoles this month. Titanfall 2 features intense online FPS gameplay, and for the first time, has an offline single-player mode. Be sure to give it a try when this comes out Oct. 28.

The last of the remakes also happens to be the last game released for the month. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim finally makes its way to PS4 and Xbox One on Oct. 28. While mods will only be coming to Xbox One gamers, there still is plenty of reason to dive back into one of the best games released in recent memory.

PS4

The following games will be coming to PS4 during the month of October.

The first PS4 exclusive coming in October is 100 Foot Robot Golf. This hilarious take on golf is pretty much exactly what it sounds like, giant robots are playing instead of normal humans. That means courses span entire cities or even into outer space. This wacky game comes out Oct. 10.

The next game to come to PS4 in October is Rise of the Tomb Raider. This game has already been on Xbox One for a year and PC since January, but the PS4 will finally see a release of Lara Croft’s latest adventure on Oct. 11.

Also coming to PS Vita, Dragon Quest Builders is a sandbox action-RPG that is basically Minecraft in the Dragon Quest world. If that sounds interesting to you, check out Dragon Quest Builders on Oct. 11.

The PlayStation VR also releases this month, on Oct. 13. Along with the PSVR, there is a whole slew of new and updated VR games. Be sure to check out all the upcoming PSVR games, including Driveclub VR, RIGS: Mechanized Combat League and more right here.

Another PS4 exclusive for October is Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky. This RPG is a side-scrolling game similar to Valkyrie Profile. While released last year in Japan, a worldwide release is coming Oct. 18.

Another game also coming to PS Vita, World of Final Fantasy will release on Oct. 25. In this take on Final Fantasy, players control a pair of twins as they adventure through the land of Grymoire to discover lost memories.

Xbox One

The only exclusive game to Xbox One in October is Gears of War 4. Also coming to PC thanks to the Play Anywhere initiative, Gears of War 4 is the highly-anticipated continuation of the Gears story, this time featuring the son of Marcus Fenix. Gears of War 4 releases on Oct. 11.

Who Wins?

This month is tough. As much as Xbox One puts up a good showing with Gears of War 4, I’m going to have to side once again with PS4. Launching a new VR headset along with all those exclusive games is too exciting an offer to pass up.
