The latest update for PUBG: Battlegrounds is finally here. As revealed in the 2024 Roadmap, Krafton is introducing "Gunplay LABS," which is a way to test new features. For this new update, players can look forward to trying out the SMG Balance which is available in Arcade and also accessible in Custom match.
The SMG Rebalance is available for PC from March 13 to March 27 while for consoles it's going to from March 21 to April 4. The studio has also prepared a survey to get player feedback. Players can send their comments between March 13 to April 4.
Why the change? You see when it comes to weapons, SMGs not only have high rates of fire but can also deal rather outstanding damage. In addition, SMGs are accessible to players with different levels of experience. Which means it's a good choice especially for players with less experience.
Here are the changes being tested out for SMGs:
- Movement Speed
- Basic movement speed increased by approximately 2.6%.
- Sprint speed increased by approximately 2.4%.
- MP5K
- Damage increased from 33 to 34.
- Horizontal recoil decreased by approximately 7%.
- Vertical recoil decreased by approximately 5%.
- Micro UZI
- Horizontal recoil decreased by approximately 10%.
- Vertical recoil decreased by approximately 15%.
- Vector & Tommy Gun
- Horizontal recoil decreased by approximately 5%.
- Vertical recoil decreased by approximately 7%.
- PP-19 Bizon
- Damage increased from 36 to 38.
- Horizontal recoil decreased by approximately 5%
- Vertical recoil decreased by approximately 5%.
- UMP45
- Damage increased from 41 to 43.
- Horizontal recoil decreased by approximately 5%.
By the way, adjustments have also been made to the damage reduction and minimum damage by distance for all SMGs, with the exception of the P90.
Utility Belt
As revealed back in Update 28.1, the Utility Belt is being removed and no longer available starting with this update. The capacity feature of this item is going to be integrated directly into the basic stats of the character. Utility Belt skins are also being removed and players who currently own Utility Belt skins receive compensations.
Those who own the Utility Belt (Brown) and Battle Belt for example get 7,000 BP as compensation. The Madsy Utility Belt meanwhile is expected to hand out a compensation of 10,000 BP. Other compensations are:
Compensation of 300 Bonus G-COIN for:
- Cowboy Holster
- Coldfront Utility Belt
- Quilted Utility Belt
- Hip Hugger Beach Belt
Compensation of 300 Credit for:
- Cowboy Holster Imprint
