Developer Follow the Feathers has confirmed that its puzzle adventure title Weaving Tides has been picked up by publisher Crytivo (The Universim, Serin Fate) and will soon be releasing for the Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac via Steam later this year.
Weaving Tides follows the story of an enchanted woven world. Players take control of Tass and Kilim, a carpet dragon that bobs and weaves throughout the landscape to solve puzzles, repair tapestries, tie up enemies, and unravel the great mysteries of the past. The game is played through an isometric view, with players dragging a piece of thread that dangles from their carpet dragon. Certain parts of the game’s map are weaves which players can go through if they encounter an obstacle or if they need to avoid an enemy.
Another key part of the gameplay is knowing when to go over or under the weave to solve certain puzzles. As of now, Weaving Tides has three areas, namely Silken Desert, Spun Forests, and Mothkin Empire. Also, there are other carpet dragons, also known as Weavers, each with their special attributes and skills. For example, Twil has higher movement speed and has the ability to fire ribbons in a straight line. As for Luce, he can take more hits and can rush forward, leaving anything and everything behind him in stitches (literally and figuratively).
Weaving Tides is currently being funded through Kickstarter, and the crowdfunding campaign has already surpassed its initial goal fo $20,000. A few stretch goals are still left in sight, such as a livestream event and a mini game that will deepen the player’s bonds with their Weaver in-game.
Weaving Tides will release soon for the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop, and PC, and Mac via Steam. All three versions are expected to release during Q4 of 2020. Ports for other consoles are possible, but are not a priority as of this moment. The same goes for physical releases for the Switch and PC.
Aside from Weaving Tides, publisher Crytivo is also backing multiplayer melee title Flea Madness and farming sim Roots of Pacha.
