Rainbow Six Siege's APAC North League 2021 just concluded its first playday and the results are here. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the matches have been held online. Teams clashed and showed some exciting matches to watch this week.
The first match was between Fnatic and DWG KIA, which was played on the map, Oregon. Byeonguk "RIN" Jang from DWG got an insane triple kill on round three by jumping into the big window. However, she was unable to kill the final player, which allowed Fnatic to gain a round advantage.
Tex "Tex" Thompson from Fnatic aced on the fourth round by just roaming around the map. If DWG had droned properly, they wouldn’t have given Tex that ace. Still, DWG won the close match 8-7 against Fnatic, and it was a surprise to viewers as the latter is an experienced team. Tex carried his team with 20 kills but it didn’t matter in the end.
The match between FAV Gaming and Cyclops Athlete Gaming was played on Coastline. The map tends to get high kills, so it means the team with the best gun skills wins. CAG played extremely well throughout the game. In round six, Sho "BlackRay" Hasegawa clutched the round by getting a quad kill on the Penthouse site. On the attack, CAG used operators like Montagne, which isn’t a good pick on a frag-heavy map like Coastline. Yet the team coordination made amazing use of the operator.
In the final round, Montagne was able to push into the hookah site that caught FAV off-guard. This allowed CAG to get the kills while the Montagne was planting, resulting in their victory. Reon "Anitun" Sakai topped the leaderboards for CAG with 10 kills, showing that Montagne is definitely useful on the map.
