Rainbow Six Siege APAC 2021 Playoffs has finished its first playday. The team that gets first and second place will qualify for the Six August 2021 Major, which is held in Mexico. Pittsburgh Knights and CYCLOPS Athlete Gaming have already qualified by taking the first seed in their respective APAC North/South Leagues.
DAMWON Gaming vs. QConfirm
These two teams decided to play on Clubhouse, which is a defender-sided map. QC banned Montagne and Wamai. The Montagne ban will help them keep garage control. On the other hand, the Wamai ban will make it easier for them to push the opponents on the attack. DWG started out with a really good defense split and took the first half with a 4-2 scoreline. QC was unable to get any openings on the attack, which DWG took advantage of to win rounds. QC managed to get three rounds on defense but DWG’s score advantage allowed them to win the game in the end. DWG won with a 7-5 scoreline.
This victory sends DWG to the upper bracket finals, while QC will have another chance in the lower brackets.
Invictus Gaming vs. Elevate
This match was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which is a defender-sided map. Most of the fans thought Invictus would win. However, Elevate’s aggressive playstyle and research on their opponents gave them an advantage. Elevate started out on the attack and got a 3-3 scoreline, which is pretty good considering the map is defender favored. After the side switch, Elevate was able to win the game without much trouble as they just roamed around the map. The roam from Elevate caught Invictus off-guard and the former was able to win the game with a 7-5 scoreline.
This win for Elevate sends them to the upper bracket finals against DWG. While Invictus will get another chance in the lower brackets.
