Rainbow Six Siege APAC North League Stage 2 has finished its fifth playday. The team that gets first place from this region will qualify for the Six August 2021 Major, which is held in Mexico. While the second to fourth placer will go to the Playoffs and face the teams from APAC South. All these matches are being played online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
CYCLOPS athlete gaming vs. T1
The match between these two teams was played on Oregon, which is a defender-sided map. CAG’s aggressive playstyle helped them get many rounds against T1. CAG took three rounds impressively on the attack, and the first half resulted in a 3-3 split. CAG was easily able to defend against T1’s attack, as the latter always tried executing the site in the final few seconds. This helped CAG win the game with a 7-5 scoreline.
FAV Gaming vs. Fnatic
This matchup was the most anticipated match of the week as we got to see two great teams fight on Oregon, which is a defender-sided map. Fnatic banned Maverick and Kaid in response to FAV’s Thatcher and Wamai ban. FAV’s Thatcher ban was meant to make it harder for Fnatic to breach sites. However, Fnatic decided to ban Maverick to make it really difficult for attackers to get angles into sites. Fnatic destroyed them 5-1 on defense due to the bans going in their favor. Then Fnatic closed the game with a 7-4 scoreline as they were able to pressure FAV with the score advantage.
Cloud9 vs. GUTS Gaming
The matchup between these two teams was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky. Cloud9’s Sihun " Nova" Lee was unable to play the game, so coach Hyeon "OniChan" Park stepped in to compete for the team. C9 was able to get four attack rounds with their coach rallying the whole team. However, GUTS’ aggressive playstyle overwhelmed C9 as a team. GUTS won the match with a 7-4 scoreline.
