Rainbow Six Siege’s APAC South Division concluded its fourth playday. This is an important league as the first placer will qualify for the Six Major. The second to fourth placers will qualify for the playoffs to face APAC North teams.
Invictus Gaming vs. Wildcard Gaming
This match was played in Villa, which is a defender-sided map. The first round was amazing to watch as Matin "SpeakEasy" Yunos of Invictus Gaming started the first round with four kills. SpeakEasy got the two kills on the Astronomy while Wildcard was trying to execute into the site. Then SpeakEasy got another two kills by going into the dining site, stopping Wildcard from getting the defuser planted.
Invictus gaming played extremely well that got them the first half with a 5-1 scoreline. After the side switch, Wildcard took one round but it was super close between the teams. Still, Invictus won the final round flawlessly without losing a single player. Invictus won the map with a 7-2 scoreline.
Invictus continues their winning streak, four matches in a row. They are currently placed first on the leaderboard and will qualify for November 2021 Six Major if they win a few more matches.
Dire Wolves vs. Elevate
This match was played in Oregon, which is a defender-sided map. DW started on defense and played the Bunker site extremely well. DW opted to use Clash to slow down the push from Elevate, and this strategy worked. Clash survived until the final few seconds and stopped Elevate from getting the defuser down.
The sixth round was the most intense as Yu-Siang "Pikan" Lin of DW was able to clutch a 1v3 situation, which helped their team secure the first half with a 3-3 scoreline. After the side switch, Elevate was in the comfort zone. On defense, Elevate just roamed around the map and wasted DW’s time. This strategy allowed Elevate to win the game with a 7-5 scoreline.
