Rainbow Six Siege APAC South League Stage 2 has finished its fourth playday. The team that gets first place from this region will qualify for the Six August 2021 Major, which is held in Mexico. While the second to fourth placer will go to the Playoffs. All these matches are being played online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Invictus Gaming vs. QConfirm
The matchup between these two teams was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky. The map requires coordination that makes it difficult for teams that rely mainly on gunfights. Invictus Gaming started the attacking side with a 5-1 scoreline, which is surprising since the map is defender-sided. QC was only able to take one round in total, and Invictus Gaming finished the match by winning the final two rounds and taking the game with a 7-1 victory.
This victory puts Invictus Gaming as the third placer on the leaderboard, and it didn’t mean much to QConfirm as they held first place even after the loss.
Elevate vs. Seventh Heaven
These two teams decided to play on Oregon, which is a defender-sided map. Elevate banned Nomad on the attack, quite weird as defenders don’t have much room to roam anyway. The match started out in Seventh’s favor as it got four rounds on defense and only dropped two. But Elevate did the same thing on defense and got the game to overtime. After overtime, Elevate decided to change up their playstyle a bit and this helped get the final two rounds. Elevate won the match with an 8-6 scoreline.
This victory puts Elevate in second place on the leaderboard.
Knights vs. Wildcard Gaming
The Australian teams decided to fight on Oregon. Both teams are considered the best in the region, and the match was an excellent showcase. Wildcard started the game with an early 4-2 lead on defense, which was later countered by Knights after the side switch. The match went all the way to the final round. But Knights pulled it off at the last second and won the match with an 8-7 scoreline.
