Rainbow Six Siege APAC South League Stage 2 has finished its sixth playday. The team that gets first place from this region will qualify for the Six August 2021 Major, which is held in Mexico. While the second to fourth placer will go to the Playoffs. All these matches are being played online due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
ORDER vs. Invictus Gaming
The matchup between these two teams was played on Clubhouse, which is a defender-sided map. The Thatcher ban from IG and Maverick ban from ORDER made it very difficult for attackers to breach walls. The first round started off with Jose "Jo" Iman of IG clutching a 1v4 situation on the Bedroom site. The first half resulted in a 3-3 split, which isn’t too bad for either team. However, ORDER on defense demolished IG. ORDER played super aggressively to counter IG’s playstyle, which helped them get four rounds in a row and win the game with a 7-3 scoreline.
This match puts IG in sixth place and ORDER in fourth place. The teams will have to win more matches if they want to secure their spot in the upcoming Six Major.
QConfirm vs. Elevate
The matchup between the two teams from Thailand was an exciting one, as both teams played super aggressively. The map was played on Oregon, which is defender-sided. The bans were pretty unusual with Elevate banning Finka and QC banning Ying. Elevate started out strong on the attack as they took the first half with a 4-2 scoreline. After the side switch, QC was able to pick two rounds but Elevate had better coordination. This allowed Elevate to win the match with a 7-4 scoreline.
This match puts Elevate at first place and QC following them in second place. The only reason Elevate is ahead is because of the round advantage, and this can qualify them for the Six Major if they continue the win streak.
