We’ve experienced more changes to Rainbow Six Siege after the Operation Blood Orchid DLC than any past update. Not only did we receive the new Theme Park map and three cool operators, but also a massive patch with more than a thousand fixes. Unfortunately, players still report stunning bugs and glitches that risk breaking the game. Most notably, a deployable shield exploit has become a dangerous epidemic after going viral on YouTube. Worst of all, it can affect virtually every map in the game.

In order to discourage players from replicating this bug, I won’t share any video regarding how the map glitch is performed, but it essentially involves a defender setting up a deployable shield next to an object in the map, such as a box element, wall, or floor. If the player goes prone between the shield and the object, sometimes the game will run into an issue where there’s not enough room for the player to remain there. And since the shield is immovable, the game may push the player through the map and into this “alternate dimension.”

Once the player is through the map, not only can they still frag enemies, but they become undrone-able and completely invulnerable. Even if an enemy team was able to determine a player glitched under a set of stairs or into a box, it is impossible to hurt or injure them. It’s a really cheap glitch, but its effectiveness is exactly why it’s become so widespread.

There have been map glitches in Rainbow Six Siege in the past, most notably the BBQ stairs at Japan’s Skyscraper map as well as the recent glitch underneath the Bank floor. However, the latest deployable shield glitch stands to leave the game more vulnerable than ever before – it’s difficult to determine what parts of the maps aren’t exploitable.

We certainly hope Ubisoft gets to the bottom of the latest series of map glitches soon. Now due to the popularity of the Bank floor glitch, YouTubers have shared solutions on how to counter against these cheaters. Check out the tutorial from Siege YouTuber Wookee Steve in the video below. Have you experienced any issues and bugs while playing Rainbow Six Siege lately? Let us know in the comment section below.
