Rainbow Six Siege is set to release the third DLC pack on Aug. 2, called Operation Skull Rain. This new DLC will introduce two new BOPE Operators, a new map, new weapon attachments and so much more. Keep reading to get the patch notes for the latest update as well.
New Stuff
There are plenty of new items in the Skull Rain DLC, so let’s get started.
First up are the two new BOPE Operators. The first one, Taina “Caveira” Pereira, is a Defender. Caveira’s special ability allows her to sneak up on an enemy and interrogate him or her. This will reveal the locations of the other enemies on a map.
The second new operator is Vicente “Capitão” Souza, an Attacker. Capitão has a special crossbow that can shoot either mini smoke grenades or asphyxiation darts. The former can act as cover for your team, while the latter is lethal to enemies.
The new map, called Favela, is set in the slums of Brazil. Claiming to be the most destructible map to date, Favela will mix narrow streets with high vantage points. Expect plenty of sniper and shotgun opportunities here.
A new game mode is also included with the Skull Rain DLC. This mode, called Tactical Realism, is a way to play with ‘hardcore’ rules. This means everything on the HUD is gone, with the exceptions of the round timer, compass, and weapon and gadget panels. You no longer can mark enemies, there is no kill confirmation, and there is now realistic ammo management. This mode is still in beta, so expect to see some more tweaks before it is called done.
Other new features include new weapon skins, a new angled grip weapon attachment, a surrender option if your team is getting destroyed and other improvements to the overall health of the game.
