Rainbow Six Siege’s European League has concluded its seventh playday of Stage 3. This is an important league as the top four teams will qualify for the Six Sweden Major 2021.
Rogue vs. Team Secret
This match was played in Coastline. Most teams avoid playing this map because it favors the team with better gun skills. Rogue played the first round very methodically. They left drones in random parts of the map and with new information, they were able to corner the opponents who were trying to hide. Rogue attacked the Hookah Site after clearing the Kitchen, which is unnecessary but it works as they were able to execute with the player advantage. Maurice "AceeZ" Erkelenz carried Rogue in the first half with 12 kills. AceeZ was just running across the map with the information relayed by his teammates. Rogue won the first half with a 5-1 scoreline.
After the side switch, Rogue tried playing on the Penthouse site. This site is rarely played by most teams because it’s very difficult to defend. Rogue tried to spread out their defense on Penthouse. But it didn’t work as Secret was just able to walk into the site and get all the kills. Still, Rogue finished the game with a 7-2 scoreline and AceeZ had 17 kills by the end of the game.
G2 Esports vs. Heroic
This match was played in Chalet, which is an attacker-sided map. G2 started on the attack and was able to get the first two rounds without much trouble. G2 played the rounds very passive and waited for Heroic to mess up. After Heroic realized their mistakes, they switched up their playstyle to deny G2’s executes into the site. Heroic took two rounds back using this strategy. In the sixth round, Lucas "Hungry" Reich of G2 got three kills by just holding vertical angles from the Bedroom into the Kitchen. Then Ben "CTZN" McMillan of G2 took the remaining two kills by holding the flanks to win the round. G2 won the first half with a 4-2 scoreline.
After the side switch, the rounds went back and forth between these teams. However, when it reached the final round, one player from Heroic got disconnected mid-round and G2 took advantage of this. Sadly, Heroic couldn't use a rehost to get their final player in the game because it could only be rehosted after a few seconds of the action phase. G2 won the game with a 7-5 scoreline.
Both teams have no chance to qualify for the upcoming Six Sweden Major. However, Heroic being dead last are under pressure because they might get relegated.
