Rainbow Six Siege may not command the same attention as some of the industry’s biggest shooters, like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or (for less competitive gamers) Destiny, but the game’s community has apparently remained consistent enough for Ubisoft to feel comfortable extending its post-launch support plans. We don’t know what the publisher has planned for 2017 yet. But Rainbow Six Siege fans can apparently expect to see plenty of new content next year.
The latest word on post-launch support for Rainbow Six Siege comes straight from the game’s official Twitter account. Over the weekend, the game’s community manager took a moment to celebrate Rainbow Six Siege ’s first year on the market. The celebration was a bit early, since the game’s one-year anniversary isn’t until Dec. 5; however, it was the second half of the tweet that ultimately made it newsworthy. As it turns out, the upcoming Operation Red Crow update won’t be the last time we see new content for Rainbow Six Siege. Ubisoft has another year’s worth of content planned for the competitive shooter.
Details on the new content are pretty much non-existent at this point. The Red Crow update remains the primary focus, for now, and it’s probably safe to assume that development of new Rainbow Six Siege content will wind down during the holidays. So any new information on next year’s Rainbow Six Siege content likely won’t emerge until 2017. But confirmation of another year’s worth of support from Ubisoft is still big news for the 10 million-plus people who make up the Rainbow Six Siege community.
Rainbow Six Siege is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
