Rainbow Six Siege’s biggest event for 2021, the Six Invitational held in Paris, concluded its third and fourth playday in lower brackets for playoffs. The single-elimination format meant that the teams in the lower bracket will have to win to survive. All the matches are played in a best-of-three format, which makes it really competitive.
Match 1: Team Empire vs. Team Liquid
Europe’s strongest team, Empire, stood no chance against Team Liquid as they got dominated 2-0. The first map was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky where Liquid took the attacking half with a 4-2 scoreline, which is impressive in a defender-sided map. Then, Liquid was easily able to close the match on defense by winning the game 7-4. The second map was Oregon and Liquid didn’t have much trouble finishing the game and winning it with a 7-3 scoreline.
Match 2: BDS Esports vs. Team SoloMid
This matchup was amazing to watch as we got to see one of the best teams in Europe compete against the best of North America. TSM won the first map on Oregon with a 7-4 scoreline, and then, BDS dominated TSM on Coastline with a 7-1 scoreline. The final map was played on Chalet, which BDS appeared unprepared for. TSM won the final map with a dominating 7-1 scoreline.
Match 3: FaZe Clan vs. Team Liquid
Liquid won the first map Kafe Dostoyevsky with a 7-4 scoreline, which wasn’t really surprising as they are strong on the map. The second map was a super close match as FaZe Clan barely won the map with an 8-7 scoreline. The decider match was played on Coastline, and could have gone either way, but Liquid’s gun skill allowed them to win the map a 7-3 scoreline.
Match 4: Oxygen Esports vs. TSM
The final match between OXG and TSM decided which one of the North American teams would stay in the Six Invitational. TSM won the first map with an 8-7 scoreline and followed it by closing the second map with a 7-5 scoreline.
