Rainbow Six Siege’s biggest event for 2021, the Six Invitational held in Paris, concluded its final matches in upper brackets for playoffs. Winners automatically proceed to the grand final while losers have to fight in the lower brackets. The double-elimination format will let every team that lost in the upper bracket have another run in the lower bracket. All the matches are played in a best-of-three format, which makes it really competitive.
The final matches in the upper bracket consisted of two teams from Latin America, which showed how strong this region has been in this year's Six Invitational.
Made in Brazil vs. Ninjas in Pyjamas
Map 1: Consulate
Both these teams have dominated their opponents in the playoffs, which makes this an interesting final battle for LATAM. The first map was played on Consulate, an attacker-sided map, while operator bans consisted of Valkyrie and Thatcher from MIBR to prevent NIP from playing aggressively using tons of intel via deployed Valk cams. NIP banned Nomad and Maestro that allowed the team to play assertively without being cut-off and plant without being worried about too much utility. Still, MIBR's gameplay took the first map with a 7-5 scoreline.
Map 2: Coastline
Coastline is a super kill-heavy map where any team can excel as long as their shots connect. This map is usually banned against offensive teams because it is winnable without using complex strategies. Using bold peeks and better gun skills, NIP beat MIBR with a 7-4 scoreline.
Decider Map 3: Clubhouse
The final map was played on Clubhouse. Although both teams struggled on their attacks, they played really well on defense that took the map all the way to the final round. Each team traded blows and alternated round wins, displaying the level of skills. It just happened NIP took the final round of the map as MIBR could not stop them. NIP won Clubhouse with an 8-7 scoreline and was the first team to proceed to the grand final.
