Rainbow Six Siege Mexico Major is coming to an end, and only two teams remain. The finals have been played in a best-of-five format.
Team oNe eSports vs. Team Empire
Map 1
The first of the best-of-five matches was played in Clubhouse, which is a defender-sided map. Team oNe banned Thatcher on the attack to make it hard for attackers to open walls and hatches. Team Empire banned Hibana, who is pretty strong on a map like Clubhouse because of multiple hatches and walls. Team Empire started their attack and had an easy time clearing oNe’s defensive setup. This allowed Empire to take the first half with a 4-2 scoreline. After the side switch, Empire finished the game by winning three rounds in a row, resulting in a 7-2 scoreline for the first map.
Map 2
The second match was played on Chalet, which is an attacker-sided map. Team oNe started the game on defense and managed to win four rounds by roaming. This roam setup made it really difficult for Empire to clear certain parts of the map, leading them to lose the first half. The first half ended with a 4-2 scoreline in favor of oNe, a good score on Chalet. After the side switch, oNe won the remaining rounds without much trouble because of their score advantage. Team oNe won the second map with a 7-2 scoreline.
Map 3
The third match was played on Coastline, which is a map that favors teams who like to play aggressively. Both teams have impressive gun skills, however, Team oNe is slightly better in gunfights. Team oNe started on the attack and Empire had a hard time dealing with their pushes. Empire was always caught off-guard or had to take on multiple opponents while holding a certain part of the map. Team oNe won the first half with a 4-2 scoreline. After the side switch, Empire cleared the map methodically on the attack and then executed into the site. This style of play made it difficult for Empire to clear roams.
But they were successful, and it impacted oNe up to the point of putting pressure on the site after taking over the map. Despite Empire's efforts to take the match to overtime, Team oNe still finished the game by winning the remaining rounds. Team oNe won the third map with an 8-6 scoreline.
