Rainbow Six Siege’s North American League has just concluded its third playday of Stage 3. This is an important league as the top four teams will qualify for the Six Major.
Astralis vs. Oxygen Esports
This match was played in Coastline, a map that favors teams who win more gunfights. Matthew "Dpfire" Macway of Astralis got an ace on round two, which helped his team gain momentum. Dpfire started the round by getting a double kill by holding a vertical angle. Then OXG got desperate because they were two players down, so they tried to rush the site. But DPfire was able to hold the entry point and get the remaining three kills.
After that, OXG switched up into a more aggressive strategy, which let them win the remaining rounds in the first half. OXG made plays like rushing into the site, but all these rounds came down to a 1v1 situation and OXG was able to win it. The first half resulted in a 4-2 scoreline in favor of OXG. After the side switch, OXG played plant denial on defense. This strategy helped them win rounds. Jack "J9O" Burkard of Astralis was carrying his team with 22 kills by the end of the game, but it wasn’t enough. OXG won the game with a 7-4 scoreline.
Team SoloMid vs. Beastcoast
This match was played in the reworked map, Bank. TSM started the match on the attack. In round one, TSM was clearing the top floor to execute towards the basement, and while they were clearing, TSM picked up two kills on the top floor. Then the round was down to a 5v3 situation in favor of TSM. To counter this, Beastcoast tried to flank up the stairs.
However, they failed and lost the round. TSM continued to dominate the remaining five rounds. TSM won the first half with a 5-1 scoreline. After the side switch, TSM opted to play in the Archives site. Beastcoast was able to get control of verticals and pressure TSM in the site. But TSM Emilio "Geometrics" Leynez successfully got four kills and clutched the round. TSM won the game with a 7-1 scoreline.
