Rainbow Six Siege Y5S4 Operation Neon Dawn was finally revealed yesterday. We saw the gameplay of the defender operator, Aruni, the rework of Skyscraper, and more upcoming changes. Just like with every other season, this one also brings tons of operator balancing changes. Siege has over 50 Operators, so you can imagine why balancing them might be a little difficult.
Ubisoft revealed the Pre-Season Designer’s Notes, which showed all the changes coming to existing operators. Keep in mind that these changes are only for the Test Server and can differ from the live build.
Hibana just got a lot more versatile. From now on, you will be able to decide how many X-Kairos pellets you want to use from the launcher. For example, you can use two pellets for a small line of site or two to open a soft hatch instead of using six. Jager received a major nerf. Now his ADS will get deactivated for ten seconds after catching a projectile, and will then automatically get reactivated. There are no two projectile limits on ADS.
Echo's Yokai Drone will not be invisible anymore. This should finally help to bring down its Ban rate from the Ranked playlist. He is also getting his Shield back, but he will lose Barbed Wire.
There are tons of other changes that you can read about below. The complete pre-designer’s notes are mentioned on the official site.
Rainbow Six Siege Y5S4 Pre-Season Designer's Notes Highlights
OPERATOR BALANCING
HIBANA
- Added configurable shot to the X-Kairos launcher.
Following the Y5S4 update Hibana will be able to manage her resources as follows:
- Hatches will require 4 X-Kairos. (The extra two pellets won't be used up anymore)
- Castle's Armor Panel will require 1 X-Kairos. (Only one pellet will be used up instead of 5)
- We expect Hibana to be able to open hatches more often and to be even more useful and creative.
JÄGER
- The ADS can only catch one projectile each 10 secs.
INTERACTION BETWEEN DIFFERENT CATCHERS:
- Jäger has priority over Wamai. If both gadgets are placed at a similar distance from the projectile, the ADS will have the priority.
- If Wamai intercepts a projectile and brings it into the range of an ADS, the ADS will intercept the projectile and both gadgets will be used up.
- Surya Gates block the line of sight of the ADS and of the MAG-NET system.
- In any other case, the closest catching device is triggered.
ECHO
- Removed cloaking to the Yokai Drone.
- Added Deployable Shield (Removed Barbed Wire).
