Rainbow Six Siege's North American League 2020 Stage two just concluded its first playday and the results are here. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the matches have been held online. The North American League had some really exciting matches to watch this week, with all the matches played as a best of three format. We got to see four different maps in play, teaching us new strategies that can be implemented into our own games.
The matchup between Soniqs and DarkZero was the most anticipated match of playday one. The first map was played on Coastline, which DZ dominated with a scoreline of 7-2. Matthew “Hotancold”' Stevens carried DZ with 11 kills playing operators such as Wamai and Nomad. DarkZero has been dominating the North American scene for a while now and their win in the US division Stage one proved they were one of the best teams out there.
The second map between DarkZero and Soniqs was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, and this time the match was relatively close for both teams. DarkZero was able to win the map with a 7-5 scoreline. Soniqs were able to push DZ all the way, which is an impressive task.
Another good match to watch was between Tempo Storm and Oxygen. Oxygen has improved a lot since Stage one, and they proved it by beating Tempo with a 7-4 scoreline on Theme Park. However, Tempo was able to regain the lead on the second map, which was Villa. Tempo countered Oxygen during their attacks, making Tempo’s defenses super easy. The second map went 7-4 in the favor of Tempo Storm, which meant both teams would have to play one more map to decide the winner.
The third map was played on Kafe Dostoyevsky, which usually favors the defenders. That said, OXG was not able to contain Tempo’s attacks which led OXG to their defeat. One of the best rounds in the match was Gabriel "LaXInG" Mirelez clutching a 1v5 with Melusi for OXG, which helped them win a round off the dominating team.
