‘ReCore’ Launch Trailer Doesn’t Tell Us Anything We Didn’t Already Know

A new trailer for ReCore is out this weekend, a little under two weeks before the collaboration between Keiji Inafune and Armature Studio heads to PC and Xbox One, but if there’s anything new to be learned from the latest ReCore footage we’re not sure what it is.

If you aren’t familiar with ReCore, we won’t hold it against you. The game has flown under the radar for pretty much the entirety of its development cycle, despite involvement from some big names in the industry. A handful of trailers have emerged for the game in the three years since it was first shown to the public, along with the occasional dev interview, but Microsoft has been surprisingly quiet about ReCore during the final road to launch. Even this week’s trailer is pretty underwhelming, combining clips we’ve seen in previous trailers to create one last promotional video for ReCore before it heads to PC and Xbox One.

On the plus side, if you haven’t seen much (or anything) from ReCore, the new trailer does at least give a pretty solid breakdown of what to expect from the final product. Fans get to see several of Joule’s robotic companions, a bit of of the game’s third-person shooter action, and some high-stakes platforming segments to tie it all together. We still have more than a few questions about the game’s story but at least we won’t have to wait much longer for answers.

For a closer look at ReCore, take a couple minutes to check out the game’s launch trailer. Then head down to the comments section and let us know whether or not you’re planning to pick up the Comcept/Armature collaboration when ReCore debuts later this month.

ReCore is in development for PC and Xbox One. The game debuts Sept. 13.
