The Christmas season is almost here, but in Red Dead Online it’s arriving next week. Celebrations will go in full swing, so don’t forget to put up those decorations and make sure your Campsite and Moonshine Shack show the spirit of the holidays.
Players can look forward to getting the Double Barrel Shotgun since the lock restrictions will be lifted. In fact, everyone has the chance to get their hands on the Krampus Shotgun Variant from December 14 to January 5.
Just because the holidays are still a few days away, it doesn’t mean you won’t be doing anything. After all, crime typically spikes during this time of the year and both lawmen and townsfolk need all the help they can get. Don’t be afraid to help, especially with Call to Arms rewarding double RDO$ and Character XP. Bounty Missions are also handing out 2X RDO$ and Role XP. This is already live and offered until January 5.
Seasonal Maps
So what can players expect to happen next week? Expect to receive Telegrams, reporting that bandits are laying siege to various holdouts. There are even reports of danger from wild animals. Basically, there are new seasonal Call to Arms maps arriving in the game on December 21. Successfully reaching the last wave of any of the maps will land you 50% off any weapon. It’s going to run until January 5.
Big Rewards
Other events available to everyone include the 2X RDO$ reward for finishing any Trader or Moonshine Sales during the holiday season. Double rewards are also being handed out for Gun Rush, Gun Rush Teams, Spoils of War, Up in Smoke, and Overrun.
Meanwhile, modes like Make It Count and Last Stand not only give out 3X RDO$ and XP but even 2X Gold.
Christmas and New Year
The holidays are also a good time to visit the Saloon and order a drink. Doing so gives you the Good to See Ya Emote for free.
What else is happening? Those who play the game between December 14 and Christmas Day get 25 Capitale and a free Accessory. The Winter Evans Repeater is available for free between December 14 and December 29.
Those able to log in from December 26 to January 5 get 10 sticks of Volatile Dynamite and 20 Fire Arrows. There’s even a free Weight Loss Tonic, which should help bring down the "holiday weight." As if that’s not enough, enjoy a Reward that clears your bounty in all states and helps to start the new year with a clean slate.
Speaking of the New Year, look forward to the promise of new starts. From December 28 to January 5, bringing in Player Bounties alive rewards you with 2,000 Bounty Hunter XP. If it can’t be helped, not to worry since handing them out cold gets you RDO$200. Meanwhile, delivering any Legendary or Infamous Bounties, dead or alive, rewards 2 Hawkmoth Bolas.
You also won’t be having any problems going after those bounties in the cold since during the same period players can get the Winter Shotgun Coat for free.
