It was February when we first learned that Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, will make a splash at E3 2016. On an interview with MCV UK, CEO Strauss Zelnick hinted, "We will be there in a big way." Now, E3 is just a week away and we're desperate to know exactly what Zelnick and Take-Two have in store. Of course, the strongest rumors suggest a Red Dead Redemption sequel. We won't know for sure until Take Two's panel at E3, but there is more strong evidence that support the rumor.
The official E3 Twitter account has added a list, titled E3 2016, which features 52 members that include all the names of game titles, game developers and publishers that are expected to appear in LA next week. In total, the E3 2016 list consists of 52 members, but this is the one that really sticks out:
The addition of Rockstar to the list was noted by GTA tipster and YouTuber MrBossFTW. Rockstar isn't the only Take-Two entity on E3's list, however – 2K is on the list as well. The highly-anticipated Mafia 3 and Civilization 6 will no doubt set the stage for 2K. With Rockstar's official Twitter account on E3's list, does this mean Take-Two is readying events for both its labels? Sure, that sounds like being there "in a big way" to us. Will it be a Read Dead sequel? at least one renowned Rockstar tipster seems to think so:
Does Yan have a reliable track record for GTA rumors? Absolutely. Is Yan's claim definitive? Absolutely not. But it fuels alleged leaked screenshots reported last week, which could either point towards a new Red Dead title or a remaster of Red Dead Redemption for the current generation console.
Stay tuned as we expect to learn more in the days ahead.
