Tokyo Game Show 2017 kicked off this week and we expect to hear new details of all the highly anticipated games from the biggest companies and developers. Particularly, we're anxious to learn more about Red Dead Redemption 2. Check out this teaser from Sony's PlayStation Press Conference 2017 at TGS:
Does it look familiar? Of course it does, we've seen it before. In fact, the only difference between this trailer and the one from Rockstar last October is the Japanese text at the very end that reaffirms Red Dead Redemption 2's release date in spring 2018.
That's pretty lame, but there's still hope yet – Tokyo Game Show will continue to take place through Sept. 24, which gives us more opportunity for RDR2 news. However, the only press conference that may potentially share new information is Sony's PlayStation Presents Live Show, which will air via YouTube, starting from 10:10 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. JST (or Sept. 23, 9:10 p.m. EST to 4:00 a.m. EST).
So far, we still don't know much about RDR2. Via Rockstar, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an "outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland" and the game "will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans." Rockstar's last official announcement for the Red Dead sequel confirmed a new release date window due to necessary delays.
"We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready," Rockstar stated. "We are really excited to bring you more details about the game this summer."
If Rockstar keeps the promise it made in this statement, then we can expect to receive new RDR2 details by Friday, Sept. 22, the last official day of summer.
Last week, redditor trevors685 shared a screenshot of a Google Opinion Rewards survey that featured some questions about the game. The surveys asked, "How much communication have you seen or heard about Red Dead Redemption 2?" and "How likely are you to purchase Red Dead Redemption 2?" Apparently, Rockstar is gathering some market data ahead of what can only be an advertising campaign for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Do you think Rockstar will deliver Red Dead Redemption 2 before summer's end? Will you still be excited for Red Dead Redemption 2 if there's a second delay that pushes the title even further behind? Let us know in the comment section below.
